Arioso is a professional reed trio based out of the Baltimore area. Arioso also combines with flute and horn to form Quintaero, a traditional woodwind quintet. Founded in 2001, Arioso has been featured on various concert series including Harford Community College's Sunday Afternoon Series, Frederick Community College, McDonough School, First Friday's at Gallery Rocca, Ashland's Second Sunday Music Series, Epworth Fine Arts Festival, Old St. Paul's Tuesday Music Series, The John's Hopkins Medical Institutions Concert Series, Twin Brook Library Series, and First Night Annapolis and International Double Reed Society 2003 Conference, Bel Air United Methodist Church, St. Martin's Lutheran Church Series and the American Children's Music Festival. As active chamber ensemble and orchestral musicians, the members of Arioso have performed in England, France, Sweden, Novia Scotia, Italy and throughout Europe and the United States. Their combined orchestral and band experience includes such ensembles as the Maryland Symphony, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Opera, Ohio Light Opera, Walt Disney World Orchestra, Chicago Civic Orchestra, US Naval Academy Band, Maryland Philharmonic, Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, Florida Philharmonic, Symphony of the Americas, Florida Wind Symphony, Boca Pops and the Gold Coast Opera. Holding Doctorate and Master Degrees in music performance and education, they are graduates of prestigious music conservatories and universities such as Peabody Conservatory, Northwestern University, and the State University of NY at Stony Brook. Members of the trio are highly sought after as private instructors and currently serve as faculty members at Harford Community College, Anne Arundel Community College, Maryland Conservatory of Music and the Community College of Baltimore County. Arioso has premiered new works written for them and was the Artist in Residence for the Baltimore Composers Forum 2003-2004 season. In addition to performing in traditional concert settings, Arioso performs regularly for retirement communities including Roland Park, Broadmead, Charlestown, Edenwald and Vantage House. Arioso is available for concert series, wedding ceremonies, formal receptions and other special events.
